History

In September of 1972, Vacaville Bible Church held its first public meeting in a storefront building on Monte Vista Avenue. Mr. Wes Hamilton, a missionary with Bible Church Crusade, planted the church. When the church was established, John Watson was called as the pastor; he remained until the end of 1975. In April of 1976, Martin Blanton was appointed to serve as pastor.

In the fall of 1976, the church had grown out of the building on Monte Vista Avenue and moved to a facility on William Street. Two years later we purchased the property next door. The garage and houses were converted into classrooms, offices, and a nursery. During this time, Faith Academy was established.

During the 1980’s, God continued to add to our congregation and efforts were made to find a site suitable for a larger building. Property was eventually purchased on Brown Street. The church sold the William Street property, but would spend two years in a rented facility until work was completed on the new site. In October of 1989, we moved into our current location at 490 Brown Street.

In May of 2013, the church called Ben Smith to serve as associate to Pastor Blanton with the intention that he would eventually transition into the role of senior pastor. Two years later the church called Ben as the senior pastor and called Martin Blanton as the associate pastor.

We praise God for His faithfulness to our assembly and for His promise that He will build His church. We know that He will build His church globally, but will also build it in our community. We are striving to give Him glory by making and maturing disciples in the region He has placed us.
