Our Mission & Message

Vacaville Bible Church exists to glorify God by knowing Him and making Him known through biblical teaching, prayer, fellowship, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

Vacaville Bible Church exists to glorify God by knowing Him and making Him known.

How do we do this?

Acts 2:42-47 provides a model of church ministry. We are told the apostles evangelized the lost, the Holy Spirit converted the hearts of many, and new believers were added to the local church through baptism. In the local church, they devoted themselves to the apostle’s teaching, the fellowship of both their meal table and the Lord’s table, and prayer.

For God’s glory, we desire to be…

Devoted to the Word

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching…”

Delighting in Fellowship

“...and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread…”

Dependent through Prayer

“...and the prayers.”

Discipling the Nations

“And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”

Our Message

God has given His people a message to proclaim. In the broadest sense, that message is the Bible; all 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is a big book, and although composed over many centuries with many human authors, it tells one unified story. At the center of that story is how God, through Jesus Christ, is undoing the curse of sin and reconciling a people to Himself who will live with Him forever. That story, and the good news it contains, is the biggest story ever told. It is the best story ever told, and it is the truest story ever told.

The Creator and His Good Creation

The Bible’s story begins with God, the Creator. In the beginning, the triune God created the heavens and the earth, and He made mankind in His image to know Him, to represent Him, and to exercise wise dominion over His good creation.

Humanity's Fall Into Sin

God provided Adam and Eve with everything they needed to love and obey Him, but they chose to yield to Satan’s temptation and rebel against God’s word. Their rebellion brought a curse upon the world and plunged all of humanity into sin. Every person is now born in sin, hostile toward God, and guilty before Him. We have all followed the path of Adam and Eve, demonstrating our own rebellion against our Creator by violating His holy standard of right and wrong.

God's Promise of Redemption

Yet rather than abandoning His creation, from the very moment humanity fell, God began unfolding His gracious plan to redeem a people for Himself. Throughout the Old Testament, although humanity repeatedly rebelled, God continued to graciously and patiently work out His promised plan of redemption, preparing the way for the coming Savior.

Jesus Christ, Our Savior

At the time appointed by God, the eternal Son took humanity to Himself in the person of Jesus Christ. He lived a life of perfect obedience and fulfilled all of God’s righteous commands. He willingly died on the cross in the place of sinners, bearing the judgment of God that our sins deserved. Three days later He rose bodily from the dead, demonstrating that sin had been conquered, death had been defeated, and His saving work had been accepted by the Father.

The Call to Believe

This good news calls for a response. God commands all people everywhere to repent and believe this gospel message. All who turn from their sins, trusting Jesus Christ alone for salvation, are freely forgiven, declared righteous, reconciled to the Father, adopted into His family, and given the gift of eternal life. Having been made alive together with Christ, believers are given the gift of God’s indwelling Spirit, who conforms them to the image of Christ until the day they see Him face to face.

The Hope of Christ's Return

The story of redemption is not finished yet. The Bible encourages us to look with hope for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. He will one day come in power and glory to judge the living and the dead. He will destroy every enemy, wipe away every tear, and make all things new. The dwelling place of God will be with His people, and sin will be no more. In the new heavens and the new earth, His redeemed will enjoy Him forever.

Our Message to the World

This is the message we believe, the hope we cling to, and the good news we joyfully proclaim. It is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, and it is our prayer that through this message many would be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.
